It all started back in 1892 with one man named Wilbur Fenelon Young. Together with his wife Mary Ida, he originally developed a natural formula of herbs and essential oils that was extremely effective for treating lame and overworked horses. This product was called Absorbine® Veterinary Liniment and it became hugely popular.

As its popularity continued to grow, some farmers began to realize that Absorbine® also relieved their own muscle pain. When word of this reached Wilbur, he developed Absorbine Jr.®, which was specially formulated to provide similar relief for the human body. It quickly became a household name and today it is still found in more homes than any other liquid pain reliever.

Still a family-owned company some 115 years later, our line of products has grown considerably but we haven’t forgotten our roots.
